NSL Reunion dinner a ‘record’ success story

“The Board of Heartbeat of Football (HoF) is pleased to announce that at the recent NSL Reunion dinner on 28 June held at the Canterbury Hurlstone Park RSL club $50,000 was raised for its Heart Health Testing Program . This was confirmed at the August Board meeting on 12 August, making it the most successful event in the HOF three-year history. In addition to this announcement, the Board confirmed that over 1,000 people have now been tested at football grounds around NSW with 35% of people tested being referred for further medical consultations following their test results.

HOFFounder Andy Paschalidis is ‘over the moon’ with the outcome and attendee feedback following the event,” The NSL Reunion exceeded all expectations on every level,” Paschalidis said.

“The generic media and social media reaction was the best for any of our Events and having our Global Ambassador Tim Cahill there gave us the x-factor as well.

“It was the first time old soccer and new football were brought together. We had over 30 ex-Socceroos in attendance including our National Coach Graham Arnold and former captains Charlie Yankos, Craig Foster and Alex Tobin. We are looking at two more Reunions in 2020,” Paschalidis added.

Following the success of the event in Sydney in which Socceroo Legend and HoF Ambassador, Tim Cahill, was a very welcome guest , talks are underway to take the event south to Melbourne with its own specific rich NSL history.

The next HOFfundraising event is a golf day in October with details to be announced shortly. However in the coming weeks Heart Heath Testing days will be held at Blacktown City FC, Ku-ring-gai & District Football Referees Association and Springwood United FC
